The Homestead

The Homestead resort has been a fixture of Bath County, Virginia, since 1766, offering first-class lodging and dining and an abundance of year-round recreation to generations of families and visitors. Nationally renowned for its golf courses, loved for its historic mineral pools and luxurious spa, and recognized for its careful attention to the finest in Southern hospitality, The Homestead's roots here are centuries-deep.

Created as a result of the mineral warm and hot springs for which Bath is perhaps best-known, The Homestead today provides an extensive array of winter sports in the Allegheny Mountains, including skiing, snowmobiling, ice skating, and sleigh rides. Spring through fall, guests here can enjoy skeet shooting, hiking, fishing, boating, horseback riding, carriage rides, tennis, and, of course, world-class golf.

The Homestead in Hot Springs built its first golf course over a century ago. It has been voted among the world's top five golf resorts by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler magazine, and the Cascades Course was ranked #4 by Golf Digest in its "America's 100 Greatest Public Courses." It has also hosted USGA events and PGA tours. The Homestead's Old Course is home to the oldest first tee in continuous use in the United States, and the Lower Cascades Course offers even more golfing challenges on gently rolling terrain cut by coursing Allegheny Mountain streams.

A full-service spa and on-site shopping are always available at The Homestead, and there are also five restaurants on site, ranging from casual to black-tie, and hundreds of comfortable and elegant rooms and suites.
